GSR have a/c (standard on the car). I would ask him if he has records for the car and take it to a shop for an inspection

Forget all that other stuff. Get the vin number and call an Acura dealer give them the vin and they can tell you exactly what the car had original and anything you need to know about it.If the car has been service by a dealer they can even show you that info.

Ok, 1st of all, you can already tell by the VIN number. It should have the letters and numbers "DC2" in the vin, the 6th number is a 2. If it's a 2 door, the 6th letter in the VIN should be a 2, which states that it is a DOHC VTEC (GS-R or Type-R)If it's a 4 door, the 6th letter in the VIN should be an 8, which means that it's a DOHC VTEC gs-r or type-r.If it has a 4 or 7, it is NOT A GS-R!So inside the hood, the engine should have a black valve cover that says DOHC VTEC, and the transmission thing should read "B18C1" which is the code for a USDM GS-R.If it has a B18B1 (RS, LS, SE ,GS) ITS A FAKE!If it has a B18C5 (type-r) which is better, it's not a GS-R, but a type-r motor.Inside the car, the GS-R cluster should redline at 8k (8,000RPM), manual transmission only.Outside, the gs-r should have blades (like you stated), a badge in the rear hatch that says DOHC VTEC. Thats about all you need to know, again, check the VIN if it has a 2 or 8, 5 speed manual, 8k redline, DOHC VTEC, blades.

you dont have to go to the acura dealer to do a V.I.N. check you can go on line and go to the estore then click parts and enter the V.I.N. and itll pop up with the basics on it......it does come standard with A/C but you can remove like i did to my teg also it should have VTEC on the engine. it doesnt have to have the DOHC VTEC badge on the back that can be removed also so your best shot is the V.I.N. and make sure it matches the number on the block too or you could be f'ed in the lond run if you get pulled over and your numbers dont matchcheck out team-integra.net http://www.team-integra.net/sections...?ArticleID=354
