unfortunately there are no "cheap" ways of improving acceleration (it works against conventional physics), the best thing would be to invest in a turbo kit. They're not cheap but you will be amazed with the results!

About the only thing you can do for $1k is get some better tires. Things like intake and exhaust won't make much difference because you will only pick up a few hp and probably just spin the tires anyways. No way you get a turbo for that price.

The easiest things to do? Buy a new intake and a couple new mufflers. A good ram air intake will up your HP about 8 and make the engine sound a lot better. Go to K and N's website; I know they make a typhoon kit for the TL. A cat back exhaust would usually be too expensive, so go to a performance muffler website and buy a couple universals that will fit the TL's pipe diameter. All of this should run you under $1,000. Oh and about turbocharging: comptech makes a supercharger kit for the TL, but that's about the only one I know of. I would stear clear of boosting a TL because A.) it would cost well over $2,000 and B.) the engine is already a high compression; boosting it would be a bad thing.I used to have an '04 Acura TL. I improved my acceleration and 0-60 times by getting an '07 Infiniti G35.

You're not going to find a Turbo for around $1,000 and you would have to spend more on more parts to fit that turbo in and make it run and of course installing cost. But for $1,000 you can do minor mods, such as ie. intakes, headers, exhaust, spark plugs, cams. Not much, you're better off saving more money and get a faster car or start building up slowly.

You want to play you have to pay. If you have deep pockets you can shave a second or two. These cars are pretty tapped out as far cheap performance tricks and is no joke. Not even a K&N filter and a Header will make much of change to notice it. You need more than just a couple of chrome pieces.
