Default What is the cost of maintenance/repairs for an Acura?

I'm planning on buying an acura rsx and i'm wondering if repairs are expensive. such as replacing brake pads, oil changes, etc

that depends on what you think is expensive.Any car will cost you money...so if you don't have money to spend, do not buy that praticular car. Different dealers will have different prices, for 'buyers' and for people who just come in.So call your local dealer or car repair place and ask them what their prices are.

The cost of repairs are the same as any honda, very reasonable. Just take it to an independent shop that works on honda's (check your yellow pages), and uses genuine honda parts. That way you get the same high quality parts as going to the dealer but at a lower cost.

I do all my oil changes, brakes, engine work, anything except tires at a local import mechanic. He specializes on Nissan's, but does Honda, too. I have an 01 TL - it has been surprisingly reliable except for the transmission (which is still under Acura warranty, and is a problem isolated to the TL, not the other Acura makes, so don't worry about he RSX).You oil changes shouldn't cost any more than any other car. I've found some routine maintenance to be a bit higher. For some reasons thinks like wiper blades are a little longer and cost a little more. But it isn't enough that I wouldn't buy this car again. Just remember this is a premium car - don't skimp on good gas if the engine requires premium and don't put cheap tires on it. Like my dad told me when I bought my TL and complained about the gas and expensive tires, "If you can't afford the cost of luxury, why did you buy a luxury car?"But once your car is out of warranty do yourself a favor and find a good local mechanic, the dealership will always find a little something wrong with your car or recommend an additional service everytime you take your car in.
