Default How fast can you actually make an automatic?

I have owned two Acura Integras...both 93. I can't drive a 5spd...only in emergencies=) and I loved my cars and want another one. But how fast can you make an automatic without swaping engines? Or should I just stop being retarded and learn a 5spd? lol Serious answers pleaseWhat can I do to the engine to make it FAST!! =)

manual transmissions are not that complicated. just give it a lotta gas and ease off the clutch. you might burn through a lot of gas while learning, but you'll catch on pretty quickly.

Automatics can go just as fast as a manual.

an automatic can actually shift faster than you can, but you give up some "feel" with the auto

Serious Answer: only some of the newer fast shifting automatics are actually faster than manual transmission cars. You can always ad cold air intake systems, low pressure exhaust, advance timing etc. but automatic is especially hindersome to 4-cylinders.Be great if you learn a 5-speed. Much more fun when you get good.

integra makes me =]they can go just as fast as there manual models, cars top out when they run out of ponies lol so to increase it youll to increase the power, turbo, supercharger, intake, exhuast,, header, forged internals ect...if i were you id learn to drive a stick, you control the RPM's and youll accelerate faster... stay safe... no late night street racers lol jkbtw drinking coffee while driveing wont keep you safe itll just increase your odds of crashing =[

to be honest my cousin owns two acuras. one is authomatic and the other is manual. the manual is faster than the automatic. so try the 5spd it will be much better than the automatic. it is also not hard to drive manual as it seems.

Nothing, trade that overpriced Honda and get a real car. By the way hon, you can not outshift an automatic. Those types of transmissions has been used on drag racing with better results than manual ones. You can clash and miss shift a manual easier. Are you going to compete on the track? Do not worry making your car faster if you are not. Get a body kit and make "look" faster. Last time I checked, the speed limit is 70 MPH and 75 MPH at the Turnpike by Tulsa OK.

a lot of automatics shift faster than a manual. Irregardless, they should have very similar if not the same acceleration times. You don't need to worry too much about auto or manual transmissions. You can learn to drive the stick if you want, but there isn't much difference in acceleration if any.You can stick to the auto. End of Story.(Besides, I have known a lot of people that tried to learn a stick and gave up.)
