Default My little brother bought a Acura RSX Automatic, is there anyway he can beef up the...

...transmission for upgrades? It is an 2002 RSX with sport shift transmission. It is a really nice looking car and bith of us are pretty new into the import world... looking for some guidance not criticismI am just looking for a way to if possible keep his transmission automatic (sport shift), or if he has to switch to a manual tranny, does he have to put in a k20A3 5 speed, or can he use the K20A2 6 speed? Thanks

You are not going to need to worry about transmission strength unless you are putting some serious horsepower into the car. I would guess that transmission would be fine until at least 250hp. With the money it would cost to get the car to that point you would be better off buying a standard. If you want to play around with the car you can put in a full exhaust and intake and maybe fuel rail, intake manifold, pulleys, etc and get a few more horsepower, much better response, and not have to worry about the transmission. Just make sure you do a transmission flush every 60,000 miles.

well if your looking into some good horsepower and staying automatic one option would be to cryotreat the parts.
