...dealership. Advice? I am currently 19 years old and I recently purchased my very first car. It is a silver 2002 Acura MDX suv, and i got it back in June. Paid for it out of my own money and its registered, title, licensed, and insured all by me. I took it to my local Acura dealership for servicing. They gave me a loaner car which was a 2005 Acuara Tl sedan. Today when i went to go pick it up when they drove it around I noticed that the whole left side was mashed in, to the point of the drivers door not opening. It was severely mashed in. I still paid for the job done, but I was pissed. I told them they need to and have to do something about that, because I can't accept and trashed car like that. I told them to find me another Acura MDX at least 2002 or newer, but they said they weren't going to. I told them I'll take action if need be. What should I do, they have to give me another Acura MDX at least 2002 or newer, but they won't even do that now I'm out of a vehicle. Advice please. Thanks

They do not have to replace the vehicle. They do have to repair it back to new condition though. Make sure they fix all the damage, have it done by another Dealer that has their own body shop and then have them pay for it through their insurance.

It is the dealers responsibility to fix it. Unfortunatly the value of your car just went down by alot. With it being wrecked, they are going to have to repaint it and because its a 2002 the paint wont match. If you claim it on your insurance it will show up on a CARFAX report.I would take pictures of the vehicle and threaten to sue the dealership. If you are financing the car see if the bank will do a substitution of collateral.Depending which state your in, I would get the DMV or the D.A. involved

Wow! First off you made a huge mistake paying for the work that was done considering that they trashed your vehicle. Did you make a note of this on the paperwork before you signed off on it? Now it's going to be your word against theirs. Contact an attorney immediately! They are clearly taking advantage of the fact that you are young. I would've refused to pay for the repair and would've refused to leave that dealership until they agreed to repair the body damage or replace the vehicle. That's just unacceptable! My friend just picked her 2006 Nissan Sentra up from the body shop and somehow they put 500 miles on her car while it was supposed to be having body work done. These places are just crooked!

sorry about your mishap but technically the dealer only has to repair the car not replace it-especially since no engine or frame damage was done. good luck- if they do not want to repair it then i would contact a lawyer. since it was the dealers fault i think they should at least provide you with another loaner car until they fix yours. you could also contact your insurance co and let them do your battles for you-since it will not go against you. good luck

It's time to laywer up. You can't make them replace the vehicle even though it may seem to you like that's the right thing to do. They do however have to return the vehicle to its original condition as to the time when you left it in their care. I would go directly to the owner of the dealership and rather than ranting and raving and demanding they replace the vehicle I would ask very nicely if they were going to repair the vehicle to my satisfaction and give me a loaner vehicle to use in the meantime. If that doesn't work its time to lawyer up even though it will cost you lawyers fees. PS....... your first mistake was paying the bill for the repairs. What were you thinking?
