Not justthe HP diffrence. Theres WAY MORE.The base model has the same K20 engine, but only has 160 horsepower and only comes in a 5 speed auto or manual. Also, the suspension is stockwise. The Type-S on the other hand, uses a more powerful K20 engine makin` 200 horses, and running on premium fuel. It also has a 6 speed tranny, and a nicer suspension. And the TYPE-R is a way diff car. The RSX-R (Honda Integra Type-R) is for Japan, and has more horsepower and torque. Also, all of the RSX are hatches. ;D

Also the RSX has a cloth interior with leather as an option. The RSX Type-S has a limited-slip differential, leather seats and a BOSE audio system standard.

base comes in 5 speed auto and manual, while type s is 6 speed manual. type s has bigger front brakes. depending on the year models there are slight differences. 04 and under type s, their side skirts are painted rather than just a flat black. 05-06 type s has different side skirts, star rims (like the ones on the 04) and a little lip on the trunk. base on 05-05 has ugly spoked rims. the engines are different too. none of them has lsd by the way. the type s has "real" vtec and higher rev limit and makes more power. the base type has a economy engine, and makes less power, but torque kicks in at an earlier rpm. also the base has choice of either leather or fabric seats/interior. the type s only comes with leather.

The S-type has around 40 more horsepower along with more torque and cosmetic differences.
