Cold air intake is little better for performance. But for street cars cold air intake can take a gulp of water when you hit a puddle. At highway speeds, you are pumping lots of air in and out of the engine bay. The little temperature difference between outside air and the tons of air that rushes in and out doesn't make much difference.I have a short air intake (with exhaust header pipes) in my 94 Civic. It runs great. I couldn't care less if I could make another 5 horse using cold air intake. I'm much happier knowing I won't damage my engine if I hit a large puddle.Good Luck.===Don't forget to vote for the BEST ANSWER - please - whoever it may be.FACT: You also get +3 points when you vote for BEST ANSWER

Studies conducted by various tuner magazines are inconclusive. It's a matter of personal preference despite what people may believe.

on the 02 there really is no difference, but to play it safe and for ease of installation the short ram is better, it will cause you less headaches, and give you the performance you want.

cold air intake is better. it takes colder more dense air into the combustion chamber = more power and better mpg... but if you live in an area where it rains you want to get a by-pass or go with short ram

a cold air intake can flood your engine on a rainy day so you have to keep another intake to switch for rainy days. its too much trouble if u ask me

with the short ram intake the air has a shorter travel time to the engine where as the cold air intake filter is located under the fender well .this can be good as well as bad. the good part is the air is colder but if u live in where it floods or even hard this can cause water to get into your motor. i recommend that u install a bypass valve if u go with a cold air intake. AEM makes both. also the filter can be a bit of a hassel to clean or replace on the RSX if u dont have a lift. personally i would go with the cold air.

Performance levels between cold air and short ram are so minimal it doesn't matter. This choice is all personal pref, personally I think cold air looks better.
