Default Is the 3.2 liter engine in a 1995 Acura Legend a zero tolerance engine.?

Meaning, If the timing belt breaks, will it bend valves or crack pistons. Thanks!!Just to let you know, I dont own the car. I am looking at one that has quit running, and just needed to know about the engine type incase the belt has broken. Thanks

Almost all 90's and newer cars are "zero tolerance" or "Interference Engine". All Acura's are. So yes, if it breaks it will bend valves. 91-95 Legend's 3.2 replacement Interval is 90,000 miles.Don't forget to replace the water pump, it's driven by the timing belt, you dont want to do all that work again if the pump fails.

yes it is a interference motor. i have a 92 legend (same motor) and i just had the belt replaced. Was done at 90k then i waited until 200k. My mechanic said the belt itself didnt look that bad but the idler pully bearings were shot so it was flopping around alot. $600 for anouther 100k not a bad investment.
