wrong!!the turboed acura gsr will be faster..why u ask???well simple a wrx puts out 224 hp..look at a gsr..stick it puts down 160 or so but put in a turbo with 7psi and it will be hitting 250 260...that by itself will beat a wrx..but figure that its also lighter then a wrx..basically a turboed hatch should run low 13s or high 12s in the quater mile...now if u said wrx STI vs turboe gsr then that would be a close race

Adding a turbo will produce approximately 8 hp per psi of boost. This is approximately an additional 56 hp. We will ignore intercooling or lack of intercooling for simplicity, since it will not be a huge factor at 7psi.The stock 2004 WRX makes 227hp, and 235 lb-ft of torque. The 96 Integra GSR makes 170 hp and 135 lb-ft of torque. The modified GSR thus makes about 226hp and 170 lb-ft of torque. The GSR weighs less (by about 300 lbs). Conclusion: The GSR may be quicker through the lower gears in a non-launch situation. In a launch, the WRX all-wheel drive will be a factor. The WRX will be stronger in the upper gears, as well as feeling more powerful (as it is), and will be significantly more torquey, since even with turbocharging the GSR will still produce under 200 lb-ft (about 170 lb-ft).

GOOD GREIF, nobody realizes the HP they are giving are from the crank. The WRX dyno's at about 187 HP at all 4 wheels in bone stock form. the GSR dyno's at 147 HP at the front wheels. Now once you boost the GSR, say with a Turbonetics kit, which is the most common one we use at our shop, the wheel HP goes up to 220. Thats JUST with the turbo kit running at 8 PSI. The WRX would not have a chance. You have to remember that the WRX is all wheel drive therefor loosing MORE power in driving all wheels at once. We have dynoed MANY of these and that 187 is an average, they tend to go between 182-195 from the factory, but generally stating thats average. same with the GSR between 140-155.
