Default Is An Acura TL A Good Car For A Teenager?

I want an Acura TL and my dad has said that he would buy me a car for my 18th birthday. He wants to make sure the car I want is safe and reliable. So, is an Acura TL a good car for a teenager?

Of course the TL is a great car but its finer qualities might only be appreciated by an adult. The reason for this is because Acura is the luxury division of Honda, just like Lexus is to Toyota. The TL is the same car mechanically as the Honda Accord and the Accord is several thousand dollars cheaper; however you can't get leather seats in an Accord. I've ridden in both and while I can't deny that the TL is more pleasurable to be in, the Accord is a greater value. Try and get the V6 if you can, more power

the acura tl is a nice car but your a teenager....right? ur better off with a 2007 honda accord. if you know your car facts the honda accord is one of the safest cars and the number 1 seller in the country. go for the accord, and it saves your dad some money... think about him for a minute since he's buying you the car.... maybe he might get you something else with the leftover money...idk maybe a cool new stereo system for the car.! lolbut really think about it first,,,,,dont get a red car...insurance will be threw the roof!!!!!!!

If you can afford it than yes. Lucky kid if you ask me.But it also depends on the Teenager. Doeas your teen show respect on the road. Can you afford it if he or she crashes it and Insurance. Most newer TL's have over 250 HP so make sure they can handle the horsepower. Does your Teen want a TL, most would prefer a smaller Coupe or pick up just to be like their friends.

The Acura TL is a great car and fun to drive the only problem with the TL is that it has a lot of front end torque which means that if you step on the gas all the power goes to the front wheels which if you are turning could pull the steering wheel away from your hands. Also with all of these people saying that you can compare the accord to the TL they are crazy and don't know their cars. The TSX is comparable to the accord and you can get an accord with leather and so on and so on. The honda is a great car but it is no Acura. The handling is better there are more features and the overall ride is better. The safety is about the same because it is Honda. If you want to see how safe they are go to nhtsa's web site and look at the safety ratings. I would tell you to go for the TSX because it has almost all the same things as the TL you just don't have the same power which you do not need at this time. You might wan't to wait because the new version's of the TSX, TL, and RL will be out in the 09 model which will hit dealerships starting in April of 08.

Yeah, if you're a spoiled brat. Get a job and buy your own car.

Word. A first car should NEVER be a nice car. It teaches respect and responsibility for having a vehicle. Plus you can learn a little in the field of maintainence and repair too. =)Wait for the spankin new car till you're more experienced.
