Default I'm buying an ACURA 3.0 CL, 1998 make, 98000 miles, coupe, leather interior, well

maintained. Price is $5600 I drove the car and it was nice. I am aware of the transmission problems some people had with ACURA. But I think this is not one of those. This car felt like new and the transmission worked smooth. Should I be buying this car with above mentioned specs?I checked your answers friends..I checked the KELLY BLUE BOOK value for the car and it is well above $6000.oh and I was kind of in a hurry to buy a car. I am aware of the 6 cylinder gas consumption. But the car looked good to me. I know it is going to be a bit heavy on my wallet. But it should not make a HUGE difference..right?

kind of pricy for a car that is nearly 10 years old..mileage isn't too bad and they are good cars. I'd go to kelleybluebook.com and check out what the value is....or just call the bank and ask them what the loan value of the car is. This is the hi price I would pay for the car if it was me.

With today's gas prices and higher to come did you consider a 4 cyl, less power but better economy. Honda civic or Accord both put out good 4 cyl cars.

Yes, its a good price. I am on my second Acura, I have a 1997 Acura RL. Acura engines are rated at 300,000 miles, same as some US trucks. No other car engine I know of is rated that long.

If it's as nice as you say...offer $5000..see what the owner says...don't go above $5400.(it IS a 10 yr old car...but with only 98000 miles it's a steal...)

it may seem kinda pricey but if the engine, transmission, and cooling system are ok, then i think you should get it (but first have a mechanic look at it).i've known acura (honda) engines to reach 300,000 and still keep going, so long as it's well maintained.if you can't get a mechanic to look at it, then at least bring a friend that knows a lot about cars.also, make sure you get all of the car maintenance records.

Transmission problems? My family has had one major problem with an Acura. And that came when it was 12 years old, had 265,000 miles on it, and still had the original clutch.Get the car. Acuras are the most reliable cars on the market.
