If you are thinking about buy this kind of car, I would suggest against it. These customized cars are a b*tch to maintain and cost tons of dollars to find somebody who can maintain it correctly. While Honda and Acura are the same company anytime you swap engine to sometime that the factory never design it, every repair becomes some sort of "custome" work. That's mechanic's code for extra "$$$"

It could be a B18C5 or a B18A6. Both are GS-R engines, and both, with the proper "Type R" options, can get you from 0 to 60 in approx. 6.5 seconds. Yes, believe it. A few of my friends have GSR engines and have beaten that feat. I'll be getting a K20A3 from an '02 Civic Si in my 93 civic DX, but thats going to be a bitch to install, having to get an RSX transmission instead of the civic's, because that style of civic has a stickshift that goes through the dash instead of inbetween the seats.

If its a GSR engine, it can ONLY be either of two. the b17A1--1992-1993, 1.7 liters, fuel-injected, 160hp @ 7600rpm, 117ft-lbs @ 7000rpm.orthe b18C1--1994-2001, 1.8 liters fuel-injected, 170hp @ 7600rpm, 128ft-lbs @ 6200rpmbut of the two, its probably the b18. its the more common swap. by the way. its a VERY common swap, so dont be intimidated by so-called "custom" work that you would need.

gsr is a B18c1 motor, 1.8LITER DOHC 94-2000 1/2. there is nothing wrong with buying a car with a swaped motor. If the person performing the swap has experiance with honda swaps it should be a good buy. Just check it like you would any used car you would buy. Try to verify the milage of the motor and trans, see if and when the clutch was changed, check the brakes, tires, drive belts, timing belt check the fluids, if possible take it to your regular mechanic befor you buy it to check the cylinder compression and if the check engine lite is on, and make sure you have a gsr ecu in there its located on the passenger side kick panel. it should have P72 somewhere in the middle of the digits usually a sticker. Good luck, a gsr civic is a fun car to have dont get scarred away as long as internal engine components went changed and its mostly OEM honda parts in the engine bay its a good buy.
