You should get a full exhaust, most "mufflers" welded on stocked piping on a bse rsx is going to sound ricey. There are plenty of full exhaust systems that sounds really good, most popular is the HKS Hi-Power.

try getting a import brand it will be better... but i would get a new cat back exhaust system. Not just a muffler the stock pipe is going to be a bit to small...but try Spoon,Mugen,HKS,Apex,or greddy ext...they are the top for import cars...good luck

every brand on the market tells you a ridiculous increase of HP by only changing the pipe and that's falseyou will get that HP when you combine with others exhaust components like headers and pipe.ill make you easy, the only difference between stock muffler and performance are the noise retention, that's itstock muffler has a lot of something like cotton inside that will take the noise away instead of the racing one who has only a bit of "cotton" or don't have anything for best results replace the whole exhaust system with a racing one

The brand JIC is awesome!!!!, but the unoversal may not be the best bet since most exhaust have to be right size to get the right power. This starts at the resonator and through the piping size and finally the exhaust canister has to be commpatible with your exhaust compression. I once baught a universal exhaust and had custom piping made. It was more expensive and the performance actually went down but it was LOUD. What good is loud if it doen't perform. Buy a bolt on specific for your car.
