it's a v6 vs a v8, but the touareg is about 2000 lbs heavier. which do u think would be faster? anyone know from experience?TL is a 3.2L 270hp, weighs 3500lbsTouareg is a V8, weighs 5500lbs emptyi've seen drag times for this touareg at almost 8 seconds and the TL at 5.8, stock 6 spd MTNevermind, http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/..._overview.html

The TL 1/4 mile time is 15.1 at 93. 4mph,the touareg v8 15.7 at 89 mph. Not to mention this is for a TL 5spd automatic. 6spd MT TL wouldn't let the VW by.TL 0-60 MT 5.8 sec VW - 8.0 sec

The drag slips don't lie...Just checked 'Dragtimes.com'& found the following:Touareg V8 = 15.7 seconds in 1/4 mileAcura TL (2004-2006 model) = low to mid 14's in 1/4 mileThere are timeslips showing TLs in the low 13's, but they have mods, probably CAI & exhaust only since short of the rare Comptech supercharger, there really aren't any other readily available performance modifications available.Also, the longer both cars continued to accelerate, the more pronounced the TL's advantage would be...it has superior aerodynamics (lower drag coefficient).

I can't believe all the people who say the Touareg would win. I used to have an 04 TL, and clocked 0-60 times of around 6 seconds, very good considering I didn't power brake or anything. I once rented an Audi A8 (which has the exact same engine found in the Toureg) that weighs less than the Touareg and it didn't feel nearly as fast as my TL. In reality, the Touareg is a huge, slow, ugly, fuel inefficient piece of crap that would get its ass kicked by an 04 TL, even with the V8.I'd even wager a bet that the new Acura MDX with its V6 (which weighs about the same as a Touareg if not more) would beat a V8 Touareg hands down.
