I'd would have to say SRX. The MDX is actually built on the Honda Odyssey platform, whereas the SRX is built on the Cadillac STS platform- much longer wheelbase and more interior room. The SRX has total best in class interior room. J.D.Powers also give the SRX a higher quality rating! You will have more room, power and that sunroof is killer. The SRX is a much better handling vehicle and won Road & Tracks SUV of the year for 2004 and 2005, first time the same vehicle has won it twice! However, you are your own best judge. Go drive both and compare them carefully. The Cadillac also has a better warranty with 4year 50k bumper to bumper and a 100k mile powertrain and I think its 5 or 6 years coverage.

Look at resale. The caddy has some of the worst across the board. If you buy the caddy you will be more upside down than Britney Spears career. Acura or Honda for the people that want to knock them, has some of the best resale year after year. I suggest driving them both with the SH-AWD you will be more than impressed by the Acura. That system is second to none!!! I believe the guy above me sells caddys, he has that car sales pitch. I should know I was one myself. If you want a reliable no biased opinion check Consumer Reports. They do not take money from manufactures.

I have an '07 MDX and love it. The person above me who said the MDX is built on the Odyssey platform and that it has less room than the SRX doesn't know what he is talking about. The '07s were completely redesigned from the ground up and aren't on the same chasis anymore. Just to clarify, the STS is a relatively small sedan while the Odyssey is a large minivan so had you been correct, you still would have been wrong. My MDX has a third row seat that is actually comfortable and leaves a small but useful amount of luggage space when the 3rd row is up, while the SRX has no 3rd row at all. The SRX (IMO) is like a station wagon on steroids. Sure the V8 model might be a tick faster than the MDX, but gas millage will suffer in comparison, the MDX handles better, is far more reliable, is more luxurious, is better build, and (IMO) looks so much nicer.

I'd say neither really. Do you really need an SUV?

The SRX is a fine automobile, won a couple comparisons as well and it is a shame such a slow seller for Cadillac. I agree with the resale value note, you are better off with the 2007 MDX. My boss has a 2006 SRX that has been to the shop more than a few times.
