I have a 2002 Acura RSX Type-S. The malfunction indicator light keeps coming on and going off. I've been sealing down the gas cap tightly but I'm not getting a good seal. The light does go off everytime I re-tighten the gas cap. I think I have a leak somewhere in the vacuum lines. What kind of damage can be casued by driving around without fixing it? I've been told that finding a leak in a vacuum line is like finding a needle in a haystack. Help?

Have you replaced the gas cap? That's where I'd start! That has a gasket that can wear like any other part.I don't think a pin-hole leak would trip your malfunction indicator, so if it isn't the gas cap, it shouldn't be too hard to find because it is somewhat larger than a pin-hole...Good luck!.
