,catalytic converter? My car only jerk once in a while, but when it do sometimes it jerks hard. I went to 2 different aamco and they both said that it wasn't the transmission? But the last man at aamco said that he had 2 acura of his own, and that it sounds like the catalytic converter. What is a catalytic converter? What does it do?

Todays catalytic convertes reduce hc and co (exhaust gases) into co2 and h20. It also reduces nox which is caused by exessive combustion heat. I am unsure if this would cause a jerk especially once. You should notice reduced power if it is partially plugged. If it does it again go through a repair station that has a very good rep or your local acura dealer

It sounds like either a stall converter or a torque converter to me. Take it to your local mechanic (not a dealer or a "transmission shop") and get their opinion.

Hmmm, sounds familiar, I have a 02 CLS and have had two trannies replaced. I now baby the car, only have 25K left on the trannie warranty. I would check for recalls,http://www.autobuyguide.com/2002/12-...lls/index.html maybe you have a claim. Check the web and contact your local dealer.

Definitely go with Mr. Bond's answer. As mentioned, there's a recall out on your car for transmission problems. It's been extended to 108K miles, but I'd get onto the website to become familiar with symptoms & with your legal rights. Then I'd take it to your local Acura dealer. Good luck with it.
