Default 2007 Acura TL (base model) versus 2007 Lexus ES (base model)?

Anyone that has driven both of these cars please let me know which one you liked better and why. I can't decide between the two. Thanks for your input!

I would go with Lexus IS 350 2007. Better horsepower, more mileage than the TL, AND less expensive. I was looking at the same decision few weeks ago, and opted for IS 350.In your case, ES will be a better choice.

I would go with the TL, just because I love acura's engines and body designs, Lexus would be good if you want the appearance of wealth, but I just love how the new TL's look and perform, they are also making a sport version of the TL again starting in 2008... i think?

The TL will be much sportier and a better performer on the road, even though it gives up about 14HP. The Lexus ES is a luxury car and the TL a sport luxury car. The Lexus is built on the Camry platform and the TL on the Accord one, so both have great engineering behind them and will be very reliable. The IS350 is a better competitor to the TL or TL Type S. I think the lines and styling of the TL are much better, since I own one. GO TL! The TL also has a great standard feature list and will generally be less expensive than the ES.Pretty much the same MPG and price wise:TL: 20/29 mpgBase:$34,295.00ES: 21/ 30 mpg Base $34,185.00With the TL std Bluetooth phone, Premium ELS audio 5.1 system, heated seats, 2 memory seat adjustments, HID headlights. All option on the ES. If you actually price out a ES with similar features it is far more expensive...

The nice thing about the TL is everything is standard. The base model is going to have everything on it except navigation. The ES is a boring looking Camry with a better paint job and more leather. It is about as cheap as a Lexus gets. If all you want is a base model, you may as well get a BMW. At least that looks good.I've also driven the IS. The IS250 just plain sucks, it's that simple. Boring boring boring. I'm sure the IS350 is a little more entertaining, but again for that kind of money I'd rather have a BMW.After extensive testing of cars in this price range I purchased the TL. I was not disappointed. I also though the BMW was an incredible drivers car, and for the money you are talking about you could have the 328i with a couple of upgrades such as leather and automatic.Check out the reviews on edmunds.com.
