one question, do you know what a V-Tec is first of all???? you cant install it into a engine that does not have it. It is not a computer software.Unless you are willing to swap the entire engine, which will be quite expensive.I am simply amazed by how many Honda drivers keep talking about V-tec and does not even know how it works...

I believe it would still be legal because some Integras do come stock with a VTEC engine. And yes if you got an engine from the junk yard, it would work BUT it has to be the right size, not anything bigger then a 4 cyl.

you can most definitely turn an ls teggy non vtec motor to vtec while still being smog legal. What you need is a vtec cylinder head (complete) w/ vtec solenoid. A complete head swap will do the trick but the only issue you will have is the the dowel pins on the vtec head will not fit on the non-vtec block but you just need to change them. Since integra has a vtec motor, it is possible. Try to stay around the same year integra to make the swap easier. There are oil lines that would have to be ran so I would recommend having a professional doing that for you if you are not mechanicly inclined. Plenty of websites online and how to books out there. Hope this helps and I dont recommend a junkyard block unless you have the know how on inspecting it and not wasting money.

Yes you can do it you can find kits to do it, but the most important things you need are the V-tec head it obviously has to be a B18C series head, V-tec solenoid, ECU, oil lines, new dowels, gaskets, and somebody who knows what they are doing. As previously said watch buying heads from junkyards, but if you happen to find one there make absolutely sure that it is pressure tested and shaved before you buy it. Check ebay for vtec conversion kits to find all the little things that you need that you wouldn't think of.

Sorry, VTEC is not a simple bolt on, like an Intake. You can however keep your LS block and install just the VTEC components. This is considerred to be difficult.Read this article for details.http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-ar...tec-32829/Your better off selling your LS and buying a GSR. If Vtec is that important. If not a Simple Turbo install will be faster and less expensive.

Well first of all if you install VTEC it would not pass smog. And Second yes the VTEC from the wrecking yard if still good can be used. To get the VTEC to work you need a VTEC Head for either the Integra GSR, The Type R, Or the the 99-00 Civic SI B16A( Best one). Then you need the VTEC Sliniod, and the VTEC ECU and you need to wire it form the ECU to the VTEC Slioniod, and your set.
