Is the navigation w/ live traffic system in the Acura TL (or other cars) worth the $?

1. I don't need navigation because I know where I'm going. If I go on a long trip I print out mapquest.2. I listen to the radio for live traffic reports.3. Therefore I don't have to spend any money for those fancy gadgets to tell me where I'm going and if I'm stuck in traffic,I can find another way to get home.

With the Acura TL, it's not just the navigation system that you get. Adding navigation gets you voice recognition that goes beyond the bluetooth phone. You can issue commands like 'xm radio channel 153' or 'set temperature to 70F.' Once you add navigation the climate control will automatically compensate if you are driving in a direction where the sun is shining on one side of the vehicle.Then you have restaurant ratings, 'find nearest seafood restaurant' or 'find ATM.'The TL has one of the most advanced navigation systems of any car in that price range. It's easy to use and powerful.Since I only live ten minutes from the office I didn't bother to buy one. But now I wish I had opted for navigation. My wife has it on her car and it's amazing how many back roads and short cuts she has found near our home that we didn't even know existed.It's going to cost you about $2,000 more but it will probably improve the value of you vehicle when you sell it, and even if you rarely go on trips, you'll find it invaluable.My wife and I went on a coastal vacation the other day and used her navigation to explore all these little nooks and crannies that we just would not have found without it.So yes, for me navigation is a must on my next car.

Absolutely! And, the great thing is, that if you check Ebay, the Navi cars go for about 1-2K$ more than non-navi's. You get it back!I love the Nav. I have no problem wandering into a new area when I am on a trip, because it always puts me back where I want to be. We have discovered lots of new restaurants and shopping malls where we would never have gone without it.
