The mpg should be about 20 city/28 highway. However, I don't know how well the car has been taken care of and since it does have almost 100,000 you might wanna do some thorough research on the car's history to see how well it has been kept up. If all is well then go for it. Acura's are nice cars. My mother has one and she's never had a problem with it. The price seems pretty reasonable as well.

I bought my car with that sort of mileage, you would never know it. It is tight, doesn't have any bad habits, is really fun to drive.Whether it is a good deal depends on the condition. Check kbb or nada for comparables. Mine isn't fuel efficient because I like to depress the gas pedal too much. I get about 20 mph with mixed driving. Sometimes less.

The particular model you're considering is very similar to the Gen 6 ('98-'02) Honda Accord V6 EX...in performance & interior amenities. The '98 Acura CL is equipped with Honda's J30A1 motor, also the same 200HP SOHC VTEC engine found in the Gen 6 Accord V6s. BTW, one of my family's vehicles is an '00 Accord V6 with 95K miles. The car is rock solid, looks & drives almost new. Performance wise, the motor seems well matched to the chassis & is 'adequate' for most needs. The car you're considering is capable of 0-60 in ~ 8 seconds. And I in line with what my Accord delivers, I'd expect you'd see fuel economy ranging from ~ 24 mpg around town to 30 mpg on the highway w. cruise control engaged. Again, the Gen 6 Accord is a good comparison since it's engine & chassis are very similar to that of the '98 CL.One thing to consider that might make me shy away from Honda/Acura V6 motors earlier than '00 is that they do not have electronic (solid state) ignition. The '98 you're considering employs the older technology distributer/rotor ignition system that is not as service-free as the current, solid state designs. That means periodically your points will need to be gapped, & a condensor (capacitor) replaced. Overall, this is no great issue most to most people. I would suggest that if you really like the car & you've done your 'due diligence' (i.e., CARFAX), that it would prove to be a rather nice & servicable 'ride'...it's not a bad investment for the dollar considering you should be able to put another 100K on it before it needs anything serious. Ah, one last thing...check the transmission fluid b/4 buying. Some Honda automatic transmissions have been a source of problems for various models & years. Do a test drive to insure that it up-shifts & downshifts smoothly on the street & freeway. Then I'd advise flushing the AT fluid religiously. Happy motoring!
