Default Problem starting '93 Integra.?

My Mom has a '93 Acura Integra. Sometimes it starts and sometimes it wont. When she turns the key it doesnt click or anything, radio, lights work, it just doesnt start. When it doesn't start she has to get a mallet and tap something in the engine, what could the problem possibly be?

The ignition switch has an interlock. Get the ignition switch replaced.

It's a bad starter. If you know anyone who works on starter, it will only cost you less than $10 to replace the bushings inside the starter. If not, the junk sales if for under $50. A shop will charge you over $300 for parts and labor.

Its the starter. Look on ebay for a NEW one don't ever buy a used starter because the same thing will just happen again in a couple of starts.
