No it doesn't. The MDX has a differential unit attached to the transmission for the all wheel drive set up. It is also bigger than the TL transmission. Besides, the MDX is a 3.5 liter engine while the TL is a 3.2 motor. Using a bigger motor on a TL tranny will put too much stress on the tranny.

I'm not sure but that might be true. However, I don't know whether the TL had a 5 speed automatic 'cause that's what the MDX has. I think the tranny from the new TL might be used on the 2004-2006 models while the older ones get the older TL's tranny.P.S. The transmission is different than the TL's because the MDX is heavier, has an AWD system and is designed to tow, so there are some mark ups to it. However, my mom has a 2004 MDX and the tranny works perfect so I don't see why it would really matter what car its from.
