Are people paying less than sticker for the car? Acuras advertised lease special includes a Cap Cost reduction out of pocket from the Sticker. I usually work up from Invoice when buying. Does this also work when leasing an Acura? I have never owned one before nor dealt with an Acura dealer...I am located in NJ.

Leasing is just like buying, you negotiate your down payment and monthly payment. The problem with a lease is it is harder for them to hide what they are charging you as leases are more complicated than a cash purchase or a finance deal. Most of the special leases they advertise are a total rip off. They talk about getting these exotic cars for $299 per month. But then you'll find there are all kinds of other fees, tax, dealer prep, dealer accessories they have already bolted to the car etc. Before you know it you are expected to pay down several thousand and the payment is actually $499.I was considering trading my 05 TL for an 07 RDX. The dealer played with the lease numbers, but were not that interesting in making a deal, so I just walked away.I do love my TL though, awesome car. I've had it from new for 18 months, no problems, great performance. I even get 33 MPG on a long run, which really isn't bad for a car with that kind of performance. The stereo is awesome too, if you can find any of the rare DVD-Audio disks. It's good for CDs and XM, but it comes alive with the DVD-A.When I bought mine I just did a long term finance. They say not to do that but I got a competitive interest rate, and a payment of less than $500. Unlike a lease I can sell it whenever I want and I don't have to worry about mileage. Acura have such a low depreciation, unless you get totally ripped off you should never end up 'up-side-down' on your financing. You might want to consider that option too. Also go to Edmunds.com and they will show you what others in your area are paying for a similar car.

Usually, when you go into the market for a luxury car, the dealership is under the impression that the only people looking in that market can afford to pay full price. Take Lexus as an example; when I went in to get my IS, they didn't budge on the price. They also never had a sale because they thought all who wanted a Lexus, would pay for one. The same probably goes for Acura.
