well, first off, if you like the car, dont get rid of it. i have a 1990 acura integra ls sedan. its not bad stock. first, is the body in good condition. second, does it run good. and third, do you like the car?my car is a sedan. it comes factory with a 130 hp. 1.8 liter, better known as a b18a1. thats the engine code. you should first upgrade the pistons, go with a b16 piston, this will boost your compression. next, get your crank knife edged, this will balance it and also lighten it and give you a little bit of a stroke. the lighter your moving parts are, the faster they will spin. ie: underdrive pulleys. intake, go to www.polarbeartuning.com, they sell ported and polished intake manifolds, and throttle bodies. cheap. get a header, a good catback system, ie: tsudo, greddy, or a custom job, sometimes cheaper. then worry about the top end. if you go with something like a stage two cam set and cam gears, and get your head ported and polished, new valves, springs a little computer work, and you will be well on your way to the 12 second 1/4 mile mark, if not already there, if your a good driver. and last but not least, upgrade to a 5 speed. you can get the tranny at any junk yard for about 250 bucks. all of the above parts can be had for about 2000 bucks if your really into it. its worth it. thats not including labor, but if you buy a haynes book, you should be able to do most of it by yourself. hope this helps, if you need more info, try www.superhonda.com and look in the integra forum, under performance for beginners, it gives you specs on different parts.
