i got a 97 teg with the b18b1 and i was looking into droping in a vtec b series motor that would be turboed and i was wondering if i were to run the wires for the vtec, if i could i use my factory b18b1 wiring harness? i know that the b series (since its already part of the "group") would just drop in using the factory mounts. the only other thing i know would need to be changed would be the ecu and if i get an obd2 ecu then it should plug right into mine.

You are correct on all of this. Run the vtec wires from the ECU and you will be fine. I would suggest going to the junk yard and get an extra ECU plug cut from a chassis harness. Take the plug apart so you can use the factory 'pins' and 'repin' your ls harness the missing wires instead of just sticking a bare wire into the ecu.
