If you have the money and time, you could even stick a turbo on your lawn mower. Yes you could, I'm sure you could even find a turbo kit for your car.

Yes. If the motor and transmission is healthy your results should be great. What I mean is if the motor and trans have have proper maintenace and aren't leaking or burning oil. Now on to the turbo. For the money one of the best kits I have seen and used has been Greddy. Great for factory reliability and fairly good 'boost' for performance. A kit from greddy new is about $2400 with intercooler and eManage and comes with a base map so you can drive it after install safely without expensive tuning. Also eManage works with automatic cars; kinda tough to find on some engine management setups. This kit could be sourced used for around $1500. Or you could piece together a kit with parts if you know what you are looking for. (not suggested for the beginner because missing parts can cause a spike in cost and not all parts put together will make a good/ reliable setup.)With that said. You can also use different engine management. Instead of eManage you can use an FMU ($50) (fuel management unit) that increases the fuel supply based and a vacuum line, Apexi SAFC ($100) for mild tuning, and missing link ($30) used to fool the factory MAP sensor. Mild tuning on dyno with wideband O2 hookup ($250). For the price I would use eManage used for $250. It can be wired into your factor ecu wires as a piggyback and as stated earlier provides adequate power with the use of free downloadable tunes from other users of eManage. This is not going to give youo the best power, but will be as good as the SAFC, FMU, missin link combo. I would only run 6-9 psi on a stock motor and transmission. If the motor is weak only 6psi for sure. Plus you will have to watch out for the oil once a turbo is installed. The oil will break down and get gunkier faster than before. It will require more frequent oil changes and use of premium fuel. Something to consider when looking at the cost of this modification. On automatic cars you will see a great improvement on highway speeds and no decrease in MPG unless the wrong size turbo is used or you can't control your right foot. I have seen both senarios before.Good luck and enjoy boost. Post more questions if you have them I will be aroundKC
