what would make the engine on a 95 acura legend knock?

If the rod is knocking the engine is pretty much a goner. sorry

Engine knock, try using a higher octane gasoline.

bad gas..low oil...did ya put in the right octane fuel ..did ya check your oil..is the engine light on..is there some at the door..knocking to get in..just kidding ..check your oil and put in some high octane fuel and fuel treatment in and see if that helps..

engine knocking only occurs when you put in a lower then needed octane gas, the octane determines at which point the gas ignites, low ones ignite easier, high harder, high octane cars (luxury like your acura) piston are designed to push down far enough to put the pressure on the high octane gas where it will ignite, this is past the point which easier lit low octane gas ignites so if you have low octane gas in a high octane engine the piston will be pushed up with the gas igniting and this comes when it still should be going down, the problem in the short run doesnt matter (ie a tank or 2) but in the long run will really damage your pistons. simple solution: put in premium gasoline
