Default My 97 Acura TL CD stoped working. The error says CDPED. Anyone know how to fix it or what is wrong?

The CD player started to go out last year. It now only plays certain CDs. At first it stoped playing CD-Rs. Now it doesn't even play official CDs bought from the store. An error that says CD-PED comes on the screen. Does anyone else with this car have this problem and how can I fix. I don't won't to let such a good sound system go to waist without a CD player.
