Hey i'm having problems with my acura integra, lately its hard to put it into 1st and 2nd gear when i stop completely. im at a stoplight and the light turns green and when i try to go into 1st...nothing happens. samething with 2nd gear. in order for me to put into 1st i have to nudge it a bit into 1st (it wont go but it pushes a bit with firm force) wiggle it in neutral and push it back into first. this usually does the trick for some reason. I have no idea whats wrong. I know its not the clutch cuz the cltuch is brand new. Also it's worn in, driven it for about 1k. can anyone help me?

Syncronizer rings in trans. Big $$ in labor. Sorry

it is the sync gears. never ever put your car into first gear while the car is moving... that is the number one reason for this happening.

possible clutch master is leaking internal (fluid bypass) not giving the full stroke you need to completely disengage the pressure plate.

It sounds like you have some worn parts. It could be in the linkage or the synchronizers, or the reverse gear or the cluch could have came out of adjustment. Those are the things I would look at.

Check the transmission fluid. and the linkage. If they are okay, sounds like the syncromesh between gears is going. The clutch releases the gears so you can change drives, if the clutch was replaced chances are the transmission will go too.

You state that the car or clutch "is new." Have the Integra towed in for an adjustment. Acura and most transmission shops waranty their work.

check your trans oil if its low it will do that . if its cable teg. than it could be the cable adjust . or check for leak out of the intermediate shaft seal. this stuff can go bad after a clutch replaced.

I had similar problems with my 96 honda accord. would happen every once in a while. I'd just put it back in neutral, do the neutral wiggle and it would go into first fine. Same thing for reverse.I wouldn't worry about it. Just warn somebody if you end up loaning your car out.You can have the shift linkage adjusted. It should help some, but won't eliminate the problem. (Ask me how I know.)

Did you also replace the slave cylinder? You should have. I had the same problem on my 300zx after I installed a new clutch on it. Slave cylinders, shouldn't be too expensive, and should be replaced whenever you do your clutch.
