that means that a code has been sent to the trans controll unit telling it that something has happened that wasnt right, usually if this happens your car will go into "limp-home mode", and be stuck in 2nd gear. you could take it to autozone, and have the code ran for free or you could just trust me by saying its a vss, but then again, i dont know exactly what the problem is bc im not there, so, go to autozone. a vss should be less than 75 dollars. this was actually a problem that has happened to a few people that i know of, so i would search for the 1991 legend's recalls, bc theres a chance that you may not have to pay for the repair, but its a relatively small chance.
