So who has seen or test driven the new Type S? I went to view it yesterday and was completely unimpressed. Don't get me wrong, the TL is a great car (mine is an '05), but the new back lights don't look nice, the lip spoiler doesn't look good, the new wheels look like the Altima S-ER. All they did was put a bigger engine in, tune the suspension, put in bucket seats and add Bremo brakes. Other than that, it's my car. They were also too lazy to put in an iPod hook up, instead just adding a cheaper AUX. I’m also concerned about the 61/39 weight ratio, and the fact that the 2007 Nissan Altima SE is going to have more torque for $10,000 less.Sorry but I am not going to spend nearly $40,000 on something like that. Am I missing something, or did Acura not do enough to step up to the plate in 2007?I assure you, the Type S is not AWD. They put the engine from the RL in it, but not the awesome AWD that the RL has. If it had AWD it might actually be worth the price tag. In fact with AWD they probably could have bumped the HP to 300 and it would be a better competitor to the IS-350, 335i, and the G35.

It really needed to be RWD and so did the RL.BTW I think the Type S has the RL's SH-AWD system. Thats probably what made it so heavy. I'm not sure if AWD had that much of an effect. Like I said, RWD would have been better.

yeah,it's true. but if you put the SH-AWD into the TL what's the point of selling the RL then? Yes, the TL still has the same body style of the '06 but just redid the wheels taillights and front grill with fog lights. wait till the new redesigned MDX and new TSX coupe to come out. We'll see how that works.
