Is there a way to improve the mpg on the car past 30? It has the VTEC.

I had a 2000 Tl,and 2003 Tl, i never got about 20mpg. You want above,30+ , dont drive in traffic and over 35 miles per hour. Also watch your idling. and no need to use the vtec!!!

a better air intake system on it will help it a little,,and keeping it tuned will help some,,that's about average mileage for it to get,,and that isn't bad considering most people would be thrilled to get that,,most of the cars today are over rated o millage any way,,if they say 30 you can count on 20-25 at the most,,id be satisfied with the 30+,that's pretty good,,i own a repair shop,,and that average for those cars, good luck with it,,i hope this help,s.

Good mileage has more to do with the way you drive then the type of car you drive. Speeding, jack rabbit starts, etc. drive mileage down. Use your cruise control whenever possible. I have an RSX and regularly get 35 MPG on the interstates

when is the last time you had a tune-up on your car? I get good gas mileage in my type r and it's fully built. I would go to the dealership and pay to have a tune-up done by them.
