The valve guides are causing your problems. It's time for an overhaul, or start buying stock in an oil company.

Well it wont be valve seals unless it is Blue colored smoke..it will go away in minutes...if it continues..you need a rebuid cause your rings are shot...If this smoking is a light whitish color..it could possibly be a blown head gasket or worse....good luck!!!

An '88 Acura is 18 years old. Might be time for an overhaul. It's not a easy thing to do, blowing rings out in an Acura, or a Honda. I had 270K miles on mine before I traded it in, and it didn't smoke at all, and ran great. But I drive like an old lady. I wouldn't even let valet parking attendants park it. And, I always made sure it was properly maintained. The '88 Acura was pretty much the equivalent of a smaller Honda Accord for people who had a little more money to spend. Take the poor old dear to the shop.

1. Have your valves reset to specs. Easy to do if you have mechenical experience.2. air/fuel mixture is off. Could be alot of things. 3. Valve rings or piston rings. Time for that overhaul. 4. condensation in the exhaust. Has the humidity been high lately?5. Head gasket or cracked block. OUCH!!!!
