They didn't. The new Integra was renamed the RSX. As to why they choose to give the new design a new name the reason is that Honda choose to move Acura into an Alpha-Numeric naming convention such as RL, TL, MDX, etc. and the Integra was the last of the word name cars.

It is just called an RSX nowupdated car - different nameAcura changed almost all of the model lines names recently

Different name in N. America. As far as I know, Japan and Austrailia, still the Honda Integra.

Technically, the integra was not the last of the word cars.... the legend was. And they did stop the production of the integra, the only thing that truly carried over to the RSX was the chassis.

Acura has ended production of the Integra in '01 to make way for the RSX the following year. Both of them are base on the Honda Civic, sharing the chassis, suspension, transmission, and powerplant.
