the difference is you with that motor u dont get the higher revs like the v tec version but the bottom have of that motor is perfect for turbo charging so after u buy it go look for a vtech head . and turbo that bad boy

the LS motor is perfect for a start. You can learn how the B18 series motor works. you will redline at 6800rpm instead of the 8200rpm(?) from the VTEC. The great thing about the LS motor is that it is a great platform for a turbo or LS/VTEC hybird (very fast and high compression) Hope this helps........... also with the VTEC motor you have to run 91 octane premium fuel

It's a perfect starter engine, and like the rest of the people say, It's an excelent engine to turbocharge. The hp is about 160 from the engine, it is a bit less at the wheels.

the vtec engine gives u better top end if u racing the car and saves on gas, the non vtec has better tourque but worse gas milage. i would get the vtec . Oh yea with the vtec motor you looking at about 150-160 hps but only 135 on torque with the non vtec u looking at about 145-150 with 140 tourque

good for starts get the feel for the shifting and after you feel the need for speed get vtec heads (lsvtec..yes its possible) not only is it cool but it has great torque better than some stock vtecs
