in my acura CL 3.0 i have to turn the air on so my car wouldnt over heat...but i like to drive with my window down

Does you car have two fans? Many have two. One runs when the sensor tells it it's hot, and the other comes on when the ac is turned on. It could be a bad temperature sensor that isn't telling the fan to turn on, or a bad fan motor. If you have two fans, try unplugging them and switching the harnesses. If the other fan turns on when you turn the ac on, it's probably the sensor. If not, it's probably the fan motor.

well, my thoughts are that your auxillary fan switch is bad, there are 2 ways to fix this problem:1. Buy a new sensor, install it or have it installed, this will cost 35 bucks for the part and another 50 to 100 bucks for someone to install it(for those who want to spend money)2. run a power wire straight from your battery to a switch inside your car, and then to the fan, then ground out the fan on the frame somewhere, this way will cost you about a buck for a switch and probably another buck for some wire(for the cheap people who will fix their car with duct tape as long as no one can see it)
