Toyota Prius. It's good for the environment and really easy to learn. I knew how to drive it by the time I was 13 and I hadn't even been in the driver's seat. Really really nice car. I just LOOVE the VW bug convertable. Only for it's looks though. But it really depends on what you grew up with, and your budget.

Depending on what you can afford buy a later model Honda or Toyota of any kind. Buy one at least 2 years old because the greatest amount of depreciation occurs in those two years. Let someone else take the depreciation hit.
