Ones a Toyota, ones a Honda.

The MDX is known as the Honda "harrier" everywhere else in the world which is pretty slick otherwise your comparing apples to apples..... And they are both red apples nothing differentiating them

Neither turns my head. Both of them are dime-a-dozen where I live.

Both of them have decent reputations but since you're dealing with 10+ year old vehicles, general model reputations or generalizations don't mean as much as individual service and maintenance history. If these are the 2 models you're interested in, I would just search for both and look for one that is in good shape, has never been involved in a major collision, and has an up-to-date service history.

When you find a vehicle that you are interested in buying, make sure to have it inspected by a dealer or other trusted shop BEFORE you finalize the deal. This greatly reduces your chance of being stuck with the seller's problems.

I have an 06 MDX. The problem with both of these is simple. Either one is going to need about $1300 in repairs within a year or two of you buying it. Also, despite what some owners will tell you, if you ask a mechanic, Toyotas are inherently unreliable. Some people have good luck with them, but Toyota has more cars that blow their engine in less than 50k miles than any other automaker.

Now, since you're a teenager, perhaps you should be looking for an SUV that's cheaper to buy and cheaper to own. A V6 Ford Escape would be cheaper to buy, require far fewer repairs, and get better gas mileage.
