Default 2006 acura tl timing belt help!!!!!!!?

Im looking to buy the car mentioned above, its a 2006 acura tl off dealership with 136xxx miles, the problem is I dont know whether the timingt belt/water pump have ever been changed or not.

There is a sticker on the belt cover but it doesnt state a date or anything, Its just a bar code with numbers in it.

Is there a way I could find out using that same bar code?

please let me know, any help is truly appreciated!!

UPC scanners..ask the dealership if they can scan it.

That barcode is just for the part for the cover, nothing to do with the timing belt.

With that said, the only way for you to know, is if the repair was either done by an Acura dealership (and thus the repair was recorded in Acura's systems) or it was done by a shop that records such repairs in alldata. If neither of these are true, you have 2 options if you buy it. First option is you drive it, assuming the timing belt was changed at 105k like it was supposed to be, and take your chances. The second option is you go ahead and pony up the $1000 or so for those repairs just to be safe. If you do a good job negotiating, you can get the cost of the timing belt MOSTLY taken off the price of the car.
