Default Short Ram intake vs Cold Air intake on Acura TL?

I'm very stuck on this situation since I am really new to cars. I have an 03 acura tl type-s and I want to get a new intake to give it a better sound while adding whatever performance I can. I can't decide on getting a short ram or a cai. The short ram is cheaper but is just taking hot air from the engine while the cai is cold air which is denser. Is it worth it to get either or could I spend less and get the short ram and make or buy a heat shield for it? I also would have to probably get a bypass valve if I got a cai which means more money.

Cold air intakes unfortunately do nothing for the cars performance i have dyno tested several on integras, TL'S, and it will drone and sound awful, your best bet I'm sorry to tell you is just leave it alone. If you really want performance that you can feel i recommend forced induction.

You can def feel more horse power and pick up when you install a short ram. Sounds nice as well

On a bigger engine like the TL, yes you will get SOME performance gains, but how much, that I do not know. BIGGEST thing you should do is get an exhaust, that will really give you some noticeable gains over a CAI.
