Default Is it a good idea to a 1998 Acura Integra as my first car?

I'm 16. I have a job. I'll be paying insurance. Would the insurance be bad? I'd be under my parents name for insurance. It has some safety features. ABS and power steering. It has 140k miles on it. Would it be reliable? Everything works fine in car and has a clean title.

Yes it would be reliable, unless you have a sports car your insurance will be fine. Keep in mind these cars are reliable but must have the timing belt changed every 60k miles or severe engine damage will result.

When I was your age, I had an integra as well for a first car. I was insured under my dad's name and it came out as $700 for 6 months.

As far as reliability, they are reliable only if the previous owner(s) took care of it really well. If they abused the car and skipped important maintenance routines, then it will not be reliable.
