Default what may be causing my DA9 to overheat a bit?

the thermostat is fine, the proper coolant fluid level is fine, but I notice that my car takes like 15 min to

cooldown back to normal levels but it takes a while for it to get past the middle of the temperature gauge. I live near Palm Springs where it has been over 100 degrees each day, can external weather conditions cause my car to overheat as well. i havent had the car long enough to observe any type of unusual behavior. My car seems to cooldown a lot faster than it does to heat up

There are a number of things that could be wrong but do not be alarmed as it could be something very small. First thing I would do is drain the coolant that is currently cooling the car. Leave the drain plug open and flush the radiator with some new 50/50 then fill to the top. I reccomend this simply bc if your car is overheating on a regular basis you should make sure there is not tap water in the radiator for the heat and pressure the minerals in the water are under, could coke up and plug your radiator....I would clean the fins on your radiator itself and also try to get a new radiator cap. Don't go too cheap. You will get what you pay for. The radiator cap could have a bad spring and could be lifting when pressure builds.Start small with repairs then work your way to the more costly and complicated stuff if the problem persists. Hope this helps and good luch
