Default Complaint about car rental company?

I would like to know where I could report a car rental company in portugal too they took money out of my credit card without my authorisation and are completely ignoring my emails now

If it's one of the international companies like Hertz, then try approaching the UK head office. They will probably investigate for you.































If it was a small local car hire place, then I don't think you'll stand much of a chance. You could go to a solicitor but it might cost more than the money you lost.

Your credit card company will deal with the matter when you draw it to their attention.

This is a big problem with car rental, especially with overseas companies. When you sign the rental agreement you are authorising them to charge for anything they find later, That can be a big problem if somebody, even one of the rental staff dents the car and you haven't got it inspected before you leave; Of course at a busy airport that's probably impossible. All you can do is complain via your card company and hope they can get an explanation from the rental that you can challenge.















NB a universal excess protection insurance can be useful here

You can complain about this with your credit card company. They will look after this and try to talk to any superior in the car company. Otherwise you can lodge a complain in police.
