Default Is an Acura Integra a good first car?

I'm about to turn 16 and get my license in August and I have about 3000 saved and my parents said they would chip in 3000. Are these good cars? Do they run well after

100k+ miles and what is the mpg like? Thanks!

Yes Indeed!! An Acura Integra/Acura RSX would be a very good choice as a first car, especially if you spend $3000-$6000 on one! When taken care of these cars will last for 300k+ miles!!!

Integras are excellent cars.

Things to note:

GSR version has vtec, base model does not.

Both models can only use premium gas (91 octane)

Mileage will likely be 20 city / 30 highway

Honda speedshift automatics from this era are terrible, get a MANual.

Almost any Honda will make it past 100k miles with basic maintenance.

General consensus is to change timing belt/water pump every 100k miles, if the car you are buying has over 100k miles make sure the previous owner did this or you will have to do it when you buy the car.

They aren't fast, but they are nice little cars, don't expect to go fast in a honda.

Other honda models for a first car:

Civic - Fuel economy, boring driving, average storage space.

Accord - Storage space, boring driving, lower economy than a civic.

Integra - Small, faster, takes corners better, fun to drive, good economy, no storage space, premium fuel only.

CRX - a blast to drive, amazing gas mileage, takes corners like a champ, small, no storage space.

Prelude - One of hondas fastest cars, decent mileage, SH comes with ATTS for better corners, premium fuel only, notorious for burning oil (anything more than 1 quart/3000 miles is bad).
