I have exactly three front caliper piston boot removals/reinstallations under my
belt, on a 91 Civic without anti-lock brakes. I had a lot of help from others
here, so maybe read the following, think about whether it will work on your
Accord, and then wait for a few more others to post.

I found the piston position determined how easy it was to get the boot back on.
Is the piston pretty far in the bore, or is it extended?

My recollection is I had more luck with it extended. With the piston extended, I
pushed the boot almost all the way down and around the piston, and then used an
electrician's screwdriver (small diameter, thin tip) to gently push its outer
circumference into the bore groove.

The Accord design might be different.

If you need to get the piston out, and you do not have an air compressor, then
you could re-install the caliper, re-connect the brake hose, and manually pump
the driver's brake pedal to push the piston further out. Go slow, and check
often for how far out the piston is. Don't floor the brake pedal. Make sure your
master cylinder brake fluid reservoir is full.

I could be wrong, but lacking the boot, you should particularly beware pushing
the piston all the way out, such that your garage floor becomes flooded with
brake fluid.

Why you holding back on removing the piston, anyway? It gets residue on it, too,
and could perhaps stand a cleaning (really, a "fine" scraping).
