Re: In case you have witnesses this accident
Sorry to hear it. My sister got into a similar situation last summer. SUV came
at her from an inside street while she was in through traffic. She swerved to
avoid, the car went into a spin and crashed into a tree. She didn't have
collision insurance (only liability). So insurance wouldn't cover the damage
done to the car which was a write-off. She ended up losing her Si Hatch.
Then there was a long time ago when I was driving my dad's Cutlass Supreme. I
was about to pass a slow moving car and at the time was talking to a friend
(this was before cell phones, he was ridding shotgun with me). At that instant
the car that I was about to pass wiped his car right in front of mine, he took
me totally by surprise, I slammed my brake and went into a four wheel lockup,
but my car had too much momentum and I started to skid into his bumper. Just
before impact, I cranked the steering wheel all the way to the left in the hopes
to avoid. The car went into a spin. I took my foot off the excelorator and tried
to counter steer, but couldn't catch the tail. I ended up in the opposite lane,
hopped the curb and was about to go into a tree. At that instant, I floored the
accelerator, the rear end wiped around and avoided the tree. I caught up to the
guy who cut me off, but he pleaded innocence. The only casualty was one of the
steel rims that got mangled after going over the curb. I quickly got that
replaced before my dad realized that I messed up his car.
