Bought 2004 TL new March '04 as wife's car. At 8,700 miles (virtually all
her driving) the rear tires and only the rear tires were treadless, front
tires were ok. The tires had never been rotated. Dealer checked car and
found nothing wrong. Bridgestone dealer would not adjust tires since he did
not see car first. Dealer agreed to pay for replacement set of Bridgestones
but I checked around and paid difference for a set of Yokohama's. Car now
has about 11500 miles and all tires seem to wearing uniform across tread and
the same for all tires (front and rear). BUT the projected tread life is
only 20,000 to 22,000 miles. In other words I'll need another set of tires
when the car reaches about 30,000 miles. This is not normal relative to my
other vehicles but I am wondering about other TL owner tire wear experience.
BTW, my wife's driving is about 75 miles per day (highway) 5 days a week.
Little if any time is spent as in-town driving. Any comments would be
appreciated. Thanks.
