Default Replacing alternator on 2000 Accord LX-V6

I can't get my hand on a manual so I am attempting to do this with
info from the net.

So far, I've learned that I need to loosen 2 bolts on the left (facing
the car), disconnect the electric cable, and remove the bolt on the
right side with another electrical connection, then loosen the belt
tensioner and slide out the alternator.

As I am trying to do this, I'm noticing it's not all that straight
forward. There isn't enough room to easily get to the bolts, but I
got some short wrenchs and at least now I can reach them. The 2
problems I can't get past are 1) the belt tension just seems to move
the pulley. I can't loosen the bolt on it. Is that how it's supposed
to be? and 2) There doesn't seem to be enough room to slide the
alternator out. Is there a trick to this?

Thanks!
